Thought I would see what interesting things I could find around the house to break in my new point and shoot camera, the Nikon Coolpix S8000. First shot was taken with Auto settings. I really like the color and sharpness. The second and third shots I was playing with the macro setting. Its amazing what fun you can have around the house using macro setting. You don’t realize just how dusty dirty things can be until you take a photo of them in Macro setting haha.

Photography Goals

For 2009 I want to establish my business as a photographer. Starting out I need to gain experience, and that means taking a ton of pictures. To do this I will be offering photo shoots for family and friends at a very low discounted rates. I want to start with some small events, or weddings. Preferably in the Portland surrounding areas. So please let me know if you are interested or know of someone that will be looking for a photographer. I want to specialize in small events, maternity, and baby photography, but its fun to dabble in a little bit of everything.
Photo Shoot Ideas

Looking for some photo shoot ideas…One idea is to go downtown to your local city, mine is Portland, OR. Take some photos of the Portland night lights, or streets after dark. I want to get a night photo of that Portland sign at the Schnitz Concert Hall. Portland is the city of roses, and bridges, and I would love to get downtown as the sun is coming up and photograph the bridges with Mt. Hood in the background. As soon as the Rose garden starts to bloom I will head up to Washington Park and take some photos of the roses. There are so many beautiful places in the Portland surrounding areas, I want to capture them all!!
